Ouch!!! We had some tough loses on January 24th in Babylon. We lost a game by 5 pins and another by 7 pins.
JUNIORS:Our team took 4 out of 11 points with a tough loss in game 3 by 7 pins. Good games by Renee Clark 148 and Stephen Mirandi of 162 in game one have us a decisive win. In games two and three our team bowled well, but not enough to beat a very good Babylon team.
JV: Our team consistent bowled over averages, but we had to make up too much in handicap. Good games by Brianna Meyer with a 191 and Rachel Magnuson with a 212. Michael Giudice was very consistent all day with games of 159, 158 & 159.
VARSITY: This team was the one bright spot of the day taking all three games handily. No real standout scores, but about average performances especially from David Lenzi 196, 185, and 196 helped to take 29 of 32 points.
CLASSIC: After a slow start and a close loss in game one, our Classic team came back to take the last two games. Sean Pantino had two nice games of 225 and 224; Steven Sabella contributed with a 226 and Ryan Koebel bowled a 217.
MAJORS: After a dominating game one win, it looked like the Majors team was going to steam-roll through another opponent. Babylon unfortunately stepped it up in games 2 and 3 and our team struggled after the first game. Eva Bardun kept things close in the 3rd game with a 202 and Anthony Neste tried to carry the team with games of 264, 247, and 231, but it wasn't enough,
MASTERS: This team battled all day despite a slow start to game one. The last game was a tough one to swallow. Babylon's anchor bowler struck out in the 10th causing our team to lose by 5 pins. It was a game in which all of our bowlers did very well - Justin Kinney (209); Mark Sabella (212); Kyle Egan (236); and Bradley Kelsey (215).
We will need to bounce back in our next match on SUNDAY February 8th @ 3:00pm. This is a change from the original schedule. Many of our bowlers will be competing in the High School County Championship on Saturday so wish them good luck. Good Luck !!!!!
