what it takes in the second half

back with the boys after another fun all-star in phoenix. what a weekend, from nate and dwight's show at the dunk contest to the game itself on sunday. as a competitor, you obviously want to win every game, so it's disappointing the east side didn't take it, but still just a great time all around.
without a doubt i think that the greatest thing of all-star weekends are the fans man. they get to see us up close and personal, all the best players play together or play against each other. and that's great. we also get an opportunity to see each other, catch up in a relaxed way, the fun with it being professional athletes. we get to live out fantasies as all-stars, something all of us dreamed about when we're kids.
now it's the second half and it's back to business and i couldn't be more ready to go. we're in a prime spot and need to get back to where we were in the first half. focus. the time is now. it's why we play.
but it's going to take a commitment from everyone on this team to step it up. this sport of basketball is the ultimate team sport. you need to have guys that compliment the best players, balancing it out. because even the guys that may not show up in the numbers or show up in the stat sheet make a difference... you got to have those types of players. you got have those intangibles because those guys are what make a team...what make a championship team. and i think we have those guys.
coming into the break, we had a couple of games that we let get away, and did we learn from that? absolutely. you rally together. you look at what things you coulda done better of course and you try to get better the next game. listen, i know you're not gonna win every game. it's not gonna happen and there's never been an undefeated team in history, at least at this level. you have to understand that as a player and not get too high or too low.
no matter how old you are or what sport you play, losing happens. you don't have to like it but you have to be able to learn from it and then let it go and get ready for the next game. for us that's the raptors tonight.
